Elmer Ploetz is an associate professor of Journalism in the Communication Department at SUNY Fredonia. He started the Journalism major there in 2008 after spending 27 years in journalism, the last 23 as a reporter and sports copy editor at The Buffalo News. He has also produced two video documentaries on Buffalo punk rock history and is currently working on a book on Buffalo punk. He is the editor for the JAM, the monthly online journal of the Sportsmen's Americana Music Foundation, a Buffalo-area non-profit.  His other areas of specialty are social media, blogging, page design and podcasting.
 
Samantha DalPorto is a junior at SUNY Fredonia with a double major in Public Relations and Political Science. She is a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, the Women’s Club Soccer team, and serves as the Public Relations Chair for PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America.) She has a passion for writing, music, and traveling. During her senior year of high school, she spent time studying abroad in Spain. She is very interested in politics and works with local politicians in her home town of North Tonawanda, NY. She is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, and was chosen by the Department of Politics and International Affairs as the 2020-21 recipient of the Morgan Dowd Early Achievement Award. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a career in social media management and remain active in the local political scene.
